One of the sure fire ways to limit your growth is to run your business on the “reactionary plan”, where each week react to your current situation – it is a great way to keep busy and to fool yourself that you are accomplishing something, which you undoubtedly are – but are all of these activities truly growing your business?
A more successful approach to running your business is to set very specific goals – write them down – and map out what you want to accomplish in the next 30 days – 60 days – 90 days. Then as you get immersed in your weekly tasks – be sure the activities are in line with your business plan. Only when you focus today’s energies as part of your total business plan will you truly grow your business.
Keep your business goals in front of you and read them daily. Personally I have had much greater success having them written down on a piece of paper – as opposed to have them inside some computer file. Hand writing and reading them aloud puts the brain down the path of reaching your goals and objectives.
Here is a website where you can print out a 90 day calendar. Go and download a copy and print it out. At a minimum level – determine 3 main measurable goals – one for each month, or tackle it form a weekly prospective with 12 specific weekly goals, or nail it with specific tasks that are to be accomplished all 90 days (or 60 actual week day work days)
